About the role

The Emergency Room (ER) Nurse Manager leads nursing services within the Emergency Department, ensuring safe, timely, and patient‑centered care. This role oversees daily operations, staffing, patient flow, quality improvement, infection control, and regulatory compliance to achieve optimal outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Direct and evaluate all nursing activities in the ER, guaranteeing adherence to clinical protocols and physician orders.
• Manage patient flow, triage, assessment, treatment, admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Coordinate staffing levels, schedules, and resource allocation to meet operational demands.
• Maintain equipment, medication, and supply inventories; ensure a clean and organized environment.
• Monitor compliance with hospital policies, nursing standards, and accreditation requirements.
• Lead quality‑improvement initiatives, incident investigations, and patient‑safety programs.
• Serve as the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Link Nurse, overseeing surveillance, audits, and staff education.
• Prepare departmental reports, participate in committees, and assist with budget planning.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with extensive experience in emergency nursing.
• Proven leadership and supervisory abilities in a high‑acuity setting.
• Strong knowledge of infection‑prevention practices, quality‑improvement methods, and regulatory standards.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary staff.
