Embedded Java Software Developer

About the role

We are looking for an Embedded Java Software Developer to maintain and enhance Java‑based service applications running on an automotive embedded platform. You will take end‑to‑end ownership of existing services, work with legacy code, and ensure high quality, stability, and long‑term maintainability.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and improve multiple Java‑based automotive online service applications on the client’s embedded platform.
• Analyze and resolve defects, extend automated test coverage, and apply quality metrics.
• Work effectively with legacy code while ensuring long‑term maintainability.
• Collaborate with on‑site lead developers and on/off‑site requirements engineers to clarify and document requirements.
• Create and maintain software designs that are fully traceable from customer requirements to implementation and test cases.
• Follow software development best practices, standards, and quality guidelines.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong sense of ownership, autonomy, and quality‑driven mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and solve complex technical problems.

Required skills

• Embedded Java development (Java SE, JUnit).
• Object‑oriented programming and design patterns.
• Debugging and troubleshooting embedded automotive systems.
• Version control with Git (or similar).
• Agile methodologies and SDLC knowledge.
• Hardware‑software integration and unit testing.
• Familiarity with network protocols (Ethernet, TCP/UDP, IP) and Wireshark.
• Understanding of code quality metrics (MC/DC, branch coverage) and static analysis.
• Experience with Android service development (nice to have).
