Early Childhood Teacher (Pre-Kindergarten)

About the role

The Hutchins School is seeking an enthusiastic Early Childhood Teacher to join its Pre‑Kindergarten team on a fixed‑term basis. This role supports children aged three to four years in a vibrant Early Learning Centre, delivering a play‑based curriculum that fosters curiosity, creativity and social connection.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
• Create engaging, inclusive learning environments that promote exploration, problem‑solving and positive relationships.
• Observe, assess and document children’s learning and development.
• Build respectful relationships with families, colleagues and support staff.
• Contribute to learner conferences and produce written reports in line with Junior School timelines.
• Participate actively in the professional life of the school, including staff meetings and development activities.

Required profile

• Passionate about early childhood education and the wellbeing of young learners.
• Collaborative team player who works well with teachers, Educational Support Assistants and centre staff.
• Committed to the school’s Anglican ethos and inclusive culture.
• Willing to undergo required child‑safety screening and registration checks.

Required skills

• Knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).
• Experience designing and delivering play‑based learning programs.
• Ability to observe, assess and document early learning outcomes.
