Director of Construction

About the role

Bigpat Construction is seeking an experienced Director of Construction to lead all construction activities for major development projects in the Philippines. The role combines strategic planning, operational oversight, and end‑to‑end procurement to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise all construction phases from pre‑construction to project close‑out.
• Develop and implement execution strategies, detailed schedules, and project budgets.
• Direct and mentor Project Managers, Site Engineers, and on‑site teams.
• Monitor performance, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, contractors, and government agencies.
• Identify risks and apply corrective actions to avoid delays and cost overruns.
• Manage the full procurement cycle: planning, vendor and subcontractor sourcing, bid evaluation, contract negotiation, purchasing, and supplier performance.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and services while controlling costs.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Engineering, and Finance to optimise project costs.
• Review and approve major purchase requests, subcontract agreements, and procurement recommendations.
• Prepare and present progress, financial, and operational reports to senior management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related field.
• PRC‑licensed Civil Engineer or Architect preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of construction management experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Proven track record of delivering multiple large‑scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contract administration, budgeting, and cost control.
• Experience leading procurement activities and managing supplier negotiations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and decision‑making abilities.
