Development Manager

About the role

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Development Manager to lead a vertical development team, ensuring technology delivery aligns with business goals and customer needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development team for a specific vertical.
• Support the delivery and lifecycle of technology solutions.
• Partner with business unit customers, product managers, security, external clients and vendors.
• Project‑manage product development, SLAs and client needs.
• Coordinate with product, engineering and vendor teams to size and deliver product requirements.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical process documentation.
• Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors and support teams.
• Define and supervise performance metrics for products while working in an Agile environment.

Required profile

• 5 to 10 years of development management experience in a Java environment.
• Demonstrated experience in Agile lifecycle and project management.
• Familiarity with technical architecture of scalable systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Understanding of both automated and manual testing techniques.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, ambitious environment.
• Knowledge of travel distribution systems (GDS, Amadeus, Travelport) is a plus.
