Design Engineer III

About the role

UCT is seeking a Design Engineer III to develop thermal solutions for heating and temperature‑sensing applications in gas and liquid delivery systems. The role supports the semiconductor industry by creating robust designs that meet customer specifications and contribute to new product introductions.

Key responsibilities

• Design thermal solutions using CAD software, focusing on heating and temperature‑sensing for gas and liquid delivery systems.
• Analyze customer proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess design feasibility.
• Collaborate with internal account managers, operations staff, and thermal manufacturing to ensure designs are fabricated, tested, and installed according to specifications.
• Participate in design review meetings and follow the NPI process via MS Teams (PST).
• Prepare and deliver presentations to sales/operations teams and, when required, to customers.
• Maintain production documentation, including detailed drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Execute cost modelling, BOM costing, routing, cycle‑time estimation, and Make/Buy analyses.
• Lead ECO/ECN processes and manage engineering data within PLM/ERP (SAP) systems.

Required profile

• Proven experience in product or project development from engineer to engineer.
• Ability to read and translate customer drawings, 3D models, and technical specifications.
• Strong focus on quality, cost‑effective manufacturing, and design for cost.
• Hands‑on collaboration with process engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and external suppliers.
