Design Engineer II

About the role

UCT is seeking a Design Engineer II to join its fast‑growing semiconductor‑related team in Cebu. The role involves taking product concepts through to detailed manufacturing drawings, ensuring designs meet cost, quality, and manufacturability targets.

Key responsibilities

• Develop design concepts and create detailed 3‑D CAD models and 2‑D drawings for mechanical components.
• Apply drawing standards, GD&T, and dimensioning practices to produce clear manufacturing documentation.
• Identify material, process, and specification requirements for parts and assemblies.
• Generate layouts, models, assembly drawings, and Bills of Material from design specifications.
• Design to cost goals while ensuring manufacturability and testability.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and may supervise junior designers or technical support staff.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in component and system design.
• Ability to work in a standard office environment and perform occasional physical tasks such as climbing or reaching.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SolidWorks and Pro Engineer for 3‑D modeling.
• Experience using AutoCAD or MicroStation.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and drawing standards.
• Ability to develop assembly drawings and Bills of Material.
• Capability to verify designs against specifications.
