Design Engineer I

About the role
UCT is seeking a Design Engineer I to develop thermal solutions for heating and temperature‑sensing applications in gas and liquid delivery systems. The role involves close collaboration with sales, operations and manufacturing teams to deliver designs that meet customer specifications.
Key responsibilities
- Design thermal solutions using CAD tools (Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Analyze customer proposals, specifications and manuals to assess feasibility.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to sales and operations staff.
- Coordinate with internal account managers and thermal manufacturing to ensure design compliance.
- Participate in design review meetings and follow the NPI process via MS Teams.
- Support fabrication, testing and installation activities.
- Potentially present designs to customers alongside sales teams.
Required profile
- 5+ years of design experience in semiconductor capital equipment, heating or related industries.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Hands‑on experience with tools and manufacturing equipment.
- Customer‑service orientation and ability to work across functional groups.
Required skills
- CAD software: Autodesk Inventor (3D), AutoCAD (2D), SolidWorks.
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
- Working knowledge of SAP (preferred).
- Experience with Agile database environments.
- Fundamental understanding of thermal applications and material properties.
