Customer Quality Engineer

About the role

First Sumiden Circuits, Inc. is seeking a Customer Quality Engineer to act as the primary liaison between the company and its customers, ensuring that all quality‑related requirements are met and exceeded. The role involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality flexible printed circuits for automotive and consumer applications.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to capture, monitor and fulfil customer‑specific quality requirements.
• Serve as the Direct Responsible Individual (DRI) and main point of contact for assigned customers.
• Lead and support customer, internal and quality management audits.
• Manage customer complaints, perform root‑cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain quality tools such as 8D reports, Control Plans and FMEA studies.
• Translate customer specifications into internal process specifications.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (any discipline).
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Customer Quality Engineer or in a related electronics/semiconductor role.
• Familiarity with customer‑specific requirements and ability to lead audits.
• Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Experience with statistical and analytical methods.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of Minitab or SAS‑JMP for statistical analysis.
• Hands‑on experience with 8D methodology, Control Plans and FMEA.
• Understanding of automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP) – advantageous.
• Awareness of flexible printed circuit (FPC) manufacturing processes – advantageous.
