Customer Operations Specialist – Grocery (Remote)

About the role

The Customer Operations Specialist (Grocery) works remotely to manage end‑to‑end order processing for major national grocery accounts such as Kehe and UNFI. The role bridges Operations, Supply Chain and Sales to ensure accurate, on‑time fulfillment while maintaining strong retailer relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Own the full lifecycle of retail purchase orders – receipt, validation, entry (EDI/manual), and fulfillment.
• Confirm order quantities, pricing, shipping windows and routing, aligning with inventory and production schedules.
• Identify and communicate order risks (cuts, delays, push‑outs) to customers promptly.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and Planning to mitigate risks and resolve open order issues.
• Serve as primary contact for assigned mass‑retail accounts (e.g., Target, Walmart), responding to inquiries within same‑day SLA.
• Ensure compliance with retailer requirements (routing, labeling, ASN accuracy) and reduce chargebacks.
• Maintain accurate records of order status, changes and communications, supporting continuous improvement.

Required profile

• 3+ years of experience in customer service, order management or supply chain, preferably in CPG.
• Direct experience working with Target and/or Walmart is highly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Experience with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems.
• Knowledge of retail compliance and routing requirements.
