About the role
The Corporate Legal Counsel will lead government relations and dispute resolution for a real‑estate development firm. Reporting to senior management, you will safeguard the company’s interests with regulators, local officials, and community stakeholders while managing litigation and land‑acquisition matters.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary liaison with local government units, regulatory agencies, and community groups.
- Develop and maintain a stakeholder map of relevant officials and agencies.
- Design and execute strategic plans for current and anticipated litigation, including risk analysis and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with external law firms, oversee cost‑effective legal representation, and draft demand letters, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Manage remedial actions for defaults, working with internal departments and external counsel.
- Assist in securing permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals for land acquisition, development, and sales.
- Conduct pre‑acquisition due diligence and oversee title‑transfer processes.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s Degree – Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws.
- 8‑9 years of combined experience in a law firm and in‑house counsel role within real‑estate development.
- Member of the Philippine Bar in good standing.
- Strong knowledge of land acquisition and title‑transfer procedures.
- Willingness to work on‑site in Taguig and travel to project sites as needed.
