Compliance Officer & Legal Counsel (FinTech background)

About the role

We are looking for a senior Compliance Officer & Legal Counsel to lead regulatory compliance and legal affairs for our fast‑growing FinTech lending platform. The role combines strategic legal advice with hands‑on compliance management to ensure all operations meet Philippine regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate corporate contracts, loan agreements and data‑privacy policies.
• Manage litigation, arbitration and dispute‑resolution processes.
• Provide proactive legal counsel to senior management on business initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with BSP, AMLC, SEC and NPC regulations.
• Develop, implement and update internal compliance policies for lending activities.
• Act as primary liaison during regulatory examinations and audits.
• Maintain and renew corporate licenses and monitor policy changes.
• Design and oversee AML and KYC frameworks, including CDD and EDD for high‑risk customers.
• Monitor suspicious activity and file required regulatory reports (STR, CTR).

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance or Compliance; Philippine Bar Passer preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of legal practice in the Philippines.
• At least 2 years of experience in FinTech, lending or digital banking.
• Full professional proficiency in English (written and verbal).

Required skills

• Deep knowledge of BSP Circulars, AMLC Rules and NPC Data Privacy Act.
• Hands‑on experience with AML/KYC procedures and complex contract drafting.
• Strong risk‑assessment and problem‑solving capabilities.
