Communication Associate

About the role

The Communication Associate will support the WHO Western Pacific Region Communications Unit by creating and managing audiovisual content that raises awareness of health issues and promotes WHO initiatives across media, partners and the public.

Key responsibilities

• Conceptualise, produce and deliver audiovisual materials (videos, infographics, posters, brochures, backdrops, calendars) from start‑to‑finish.
• Provide design guidance and create web‑ and print‑ready files for corporate communications, campaigns and advocacy materials.
• Offer technical advice on all phases of studio and video production, ensuring high‑quality outputs that meet regional and country office needs.
• Coordinate and set up interviews and events for TV, radio, social media and other platforms, including studio or on‑location preparation, stage design, graphics and transmission.
• Assist in planning and executing major communications‑focused events such as regional committee audiovisual support, news conferences, campaigns and exhibitions.
• Perform additional duties as required by the Regional Communications Manager and Executive Officer.

Required profile

• Secondary education completed with additional training in audiovisual product creation; university degree in communications, film, multimedia, visual arts or related field is desirable.
• Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience in audiovisual communication, preferably within a large organisation; experience in the UN system is an advantage.
• Ability to deliver high‑quality work on deadlines, work independently or as part of a team, and adapt to diverse environments while maintaining professional standards.
