Claim and Variation Engineer – Construction Projects

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a Claim and Variation Engineer to support the MCRP02 project in the Philippines. The role focuses on managing cost control, variations, and contractual claims to ensure project profitability and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and control project costs, track budgets and revenue.
• Identify, evaluate and manage variations, change orders and variation orders (VOs).
• Develop and implement contractual strategies, handle claims and CIACs when required.
• Coordinate schedule control linked to payments and extensions of time (EOTs).
• Manage subcontractor commercial aspects, including back‑to‑back contracts, VOs, claims and risk containment.
• Act as the primary commercial interface with the client and protect joint‑venture interests.

Required profile

• Civil Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of construction experience.
• Proven experience in risk management and claim handling.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and VO/claims procedures.
• Excellent organizational and communication abilities.
• Willingness to build constructive relationships with clients and secure approval of change orders.
