Chief Resident Engineer – International Expert

About the role

Surbana Jurong is seeking a Chief Resident Engineer with international expertise to lead the design, construction, and commissioning of dam and hydropower projects in the Philippines. The role involves overseeing multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with HSE and quality standards, and delivering projects on schedule and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise contractors and manage large on‑site teams throughout dam and hydro‑structure construction.
• Review and approve method statements, inspection‑test plans (ITP) and ensure adherence to FIDIC contract frameworks.
• Monitor work progress, schedule performance and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Implement HSE compliance, quality assurance processes and risk management strategies.
• Coordinate with international consultants, EPC contractors and donor agencies, ensuring environmental and social safeguard requirements are met.

Required profile

• 15–20 years of total engineering experience, with at least 10 years on dam and hydropower projects.
• Proven experience supervising contractors and leading multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong background in dam engineering, hydrology, structural and geotechnical engineering.
• Familiarity with national and international HSE standards and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent technical report writing and stakeholder management skills.
