Business Unit Controller

About the role

The Business Unit Controller will oversee the financial and control functions of the organization, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth strategy, risk management, and regulatory compliance. This senior finance professional will partner with business leaders to drive performance and financial discipline.

Key responsibilities

• Participate in the development, consolidation, reporting, and implementation of the annual plan and budget.
• Provide qualitative and quantitative financial advice, conduct feasibility assessments, and perform financial modeling and cost‑benefit analyses for new initiatives.
• Gather, process, and present financial information, compare actual results to standards, and recommend corrective actions.
• Implement corporate policies, ensure compliance with GAAP and government regulations, and protect company assets.
• Manage cash, investments, banking relationships, and currency risk to optimize liquidity and returns.
• Monitor the integrity of the general ledger and coordinate with other system modules.
• Conduct operational compliance tests and review systems to maintain effective business controls.
• Identify process improvements to streamline workflow and reduce bottlenecks.
• Select, train, motivate, evaluate, and retain finance staff to achieve unit objectives.
• Support the Finance Director with additional functions as required.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Accountancy; CPA qualification preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant finance or accounting experience.
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities with high attention to detail.
• Proven ability to interpret financial data and make actionable recommendations.
• Experience working under tight deadlines with a results‑driven mindset.
• Good judgment, decision‑making skills, and comfort with both technology and finance issues.
