Bilingual Customer Research Analyst – Japanese

About the role

The Bilingual Customer Research Analyst (Japanese) will conduct web‑based research on technology‑driven corporations, validate patent data, and ensure high‑quality information for our customers. This role focuses on Japanese‑language patent records and supports the Harmonization Team with expert insights.

Key responsibilities

• Process companies whose patent records are in Japanese and assign patents to the correct commercial owners.
• Answer Japanese‑related patent questions from the Harmonization Team.
• Conduct in‑depth internet research to improve global patent data quality, with special attention to Japanese documents.
• Identify patent ownership through analysis of corporate structures, M&A, spin‑offs, name changes, and transactions.
• Perform quality‑control checks to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
• Validate, update, and verify customer information in the Harmonizer Tool.
• Meet productivity targets and suggest process improvements.
• Communicate status and collaborate with internal stakeholders across multiple time zones.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• JLPT N1 certification with advanced reading proficiency in Kanji and Hiragana.
• Experience in research, data quality, and analysis, preferably as a bilingual analyst.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to work independently and with international teams.
• Capacity to work under pressure and adapt to constant change.
