Associate - Financial Institutions Group (FIG)

About the role

ANZ is hiring an Associate (Relationship Manager) for its Financial Institutions Group (FIG) in the Philippines, based in Makati City. The role is permanent and full-time, with day-shift hours, and covers client coverage, origination, portfolio management and execution. It is an independent Relationship Manager position with significant commercial accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Take primary coverage responsibility for a portfolio of clients, shadowing a senior banker on strategic relationships and understanding client priorities, decision-makers and revenue potential.
• Support origination of new business, maintain an active pipeline, track deal conversion and contribute to revenue targets.
• Run account planning, client prioritisation, revenue budgeting, pipeline reviews, wallet analysis and business performance updates.
• Contribute to FIG strategy through sector research, target client analysis and senior management presentations.
• Lead or support campaigns and special projects such as financial sponsor banking initiatives.
• Maintain accurate business information on revenue, pipeline, client activity and portfolio metrics.
• Support transaction execution, documentation and client servicing with product, legal, risk, operations and support teams.
• Ensure timely inbound and outbound KYC and keep customers deal-ready for key products and geographies.
• Keep activities within risk, compliance and governance standards, including financial and non-financial risk management.
• Develop knowledge of transaction banking, relationship lending, global markets investor sales, syndicated loans, debt capital markets and commodities.

Required profile

• Degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline.
• Proven relationship management experience covering FIG clients.
• Understanding of business origination, credit risk, non-financial risk management, compliance and banking regulations.
• Knowledge of credit analysis and loan documentation principles.
• Commercial drive, ownership and accountability for client and business outcomes.
• Ability to build relationships with clients, product partners and stakeholders, and to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Copilot, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Analytical skills to interpret client, portfolio, pipeline and revenue data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including client presentations and management reports.
