Associate Engineer – CMMS

About the role

The Associate Engineer – CMMS will join Shell’s Technical Asset Support (TAS) team within the SEAM organization. The role supports the delivery of the Computerized Maintenance Management System across upstream, downstream and integrated gas assets, ensuring data quality and enabling reliable maintenance planning.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver CMMS implementation across upstream, downstream and IGRES, ensuring first‑time‑right setup.
• Extract technical data (tags, equipment information) from engineering documents such as PFS, PEFS, SLD and other drawings.
• Build and maintain key data structures for initial CMMS configuration and routine maintenance (PM) plans.
• Support planning and scheduling of preventive maintenance in SAP PM, including creation of PM plans from equipment care strategies.
• Perform quality checks on master and planning data before hand‑over to operations.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to maximise business value.
• Provide data stewardship and support data governance activities.
• Assist with audits and “go‑see” inspections related to asset data.

Required profile

• Engineering or technical degree (or equivalent experience) relevant to asset management.
• Understanding of the equipment life‑cycle from installation to decommissioning.
• Familiarity with safety‑critical equipment standards and guidelines.
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams (engineering, maintenance, operations, projects).

Required skills

• Experience with SAP ERP, particularly SAP PM module.
• Knowledge of CMMS concepts and implementation.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and documents (PFS, PEFS, SLD).
• Data‑stewardship and data‑governance awareness.
• Basic analytical skills for technical data analysis.
