Associate Editor – Japanese (Remote/Hybrid)

About the role

International Data Corporation (IDC) is looking for a bilingual Associate Editor to support its Japan research team. Based in the Philippines with the option to work remotely or in a hybrid setting, you will act as the bridge between IDC Japan and global publishing operations, ensuring high‑quality deliverables and timely publication.

Key responsibilities

• Process incoming Japanese documents, checking compliance with IDC quality, style, and architecture standards.
• Assign documents to editors or contractors, monitor progress, and meet service‑level agreements.
• Create and format Japanese‑language decks, tables, and IDC MarketScape charts.
• Coordinate with IDC Japan and global teams on guidelines, schedules, and training.
• Use AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, translation AI) to verify proper nouns and perform accuracy checks.
• Generate metrics, update schedules, archive content, and maintain publishing systems.
• Support senior editors and the publishing director with ad‑hoc tasks.

Required profile

• Fluent in Japanese and English (verbal and written), preferably JLPT N1/N2.
• Strong cultural adaptability and ability to work in a multicultural, global environment.
• Detail‑oriented with a focus on quality and consistency.

Required skills

• Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Document formatting and slide authoring tools.
• AI verification tools such as ChatGPT or translation AI.
• Excel data validation, pivot tables, and basic statistical checks.
