Assistant Vice President / Manager – Global Markets Product Control

About the role

HSBC is seeking an experienced finance professional to join its Global Markets Product Control team as an Assistant Vice President / Manager. The role supports the Hong Kong Markets Treasury business, providing independent control, assurance, and analytical insight over daily trading profit and loss.

Key responsibilities

• Produce, analyse and report daily P&L, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Perform front‑to‑back and inter‑system reconciliations, including trader P&L estimates, fair value adjustments, and independent price verification.
• Monitor exception reports, investigate breaks, and coordinate with on‑shore product control teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain book‑opening governance, system administration, data integrity, and production support for financial data platforms.
• Support balance‑sheet substantiation and provide commercial insight to the business.

Required profile

• Proven experience in product control or a similar finance function within a banking environment.
• Strong understanding of P&L drivers, controls, and trading activity monitoring.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and communicate findings clearly.
