Assistant Vice President - Legal & Compliance

About the role

The Assistant Vice President, Legal & Compliance will provide strategic legal counsel and compliance support across the organization. The role is responsible for advising business leaders on legal and regulatory matters, managing contracts, mitigating legal risks, and supporting litigation and corporate governance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice to management and business stakeholders on corporate, labor, employment, tax, and regulatory matters, and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Conduct legal research and provide guidance on emerging legal and compliance issues, liaising with government and regulatory agencies as needed.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage contracts and legal documents, ensuring contractual risks are identified and appropriately addressed.
• Identify legal and compliance risks affecting the business and recommend practical mitigation strategies to minimize exposure.
• Coordinate with external counsel on ongoing legal matters and represent the company in administrative proceedings, conciliation conferences, and government hearings when required.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor degree.
• Member in good standing of the Philippine Bar.
• Minimum of 8 years of legal experience gained from a reputable law firm and/or as in‑house counsel.
• Proven experience supporting an IT‑BPO or shared services organization.
