Assistant Environmental Consultant

About the role

Arup is looking for an Assistant Environmental Consultant to join its Manila office. You will support a multidisciplinary team delivering environmental and social (E&S) assessments for high‑profile projects across the Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Support E&S assessment activities, including field surveys, site investigations and stakeholder engagements.
• Assist with permit applications and resolve stakeholder issues to keep projects on track.
• Encode data and analyse survey results, producing clear technical outputs.
• Conduct desk studies, perform qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, and contribute to statutory and non‑statutory impact assessments.
• Prepare technical reports, environmental strategies, corporate reporting documents and submissions for planning authorities.
• Liaise with external parties to ensure client needs and project requirements are understood.
• Take on additional technical tasks as business needs evolve.

Required profile

• Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field (post‑graduate studies a plus).
• Minimum 3 years experience in environmental impact assessments, environmental design, resettlement action plans, modelling or public engagement.
• Experience working with municipalities and familiarity with Philippine environmental assessment practices.
• Strong technical writing, analytical and presentation abilities.
• Self‑starter, adaptable team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
• Fluent in written and spoken English and Filipino (Tagalog); other local dialects are an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with environmental modelling or simulation tools/software.
• Knowledge of environmental survey and sampling methodology.
