Area Lead – Inter‑Island & Air Transfer Operations

About the role

The Area Lead oversees all inter‑island and air transfer operations for SPX Express, ensuring cargo moves efficiently between sorting centres, provincial hubs and destination stations across Visayas, Mindanao and MIMAROPA.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily truck dispatches from sorting centres to provincial hubs and ensure shipments meet schedule and transit targets.
• Guide Port Coordinators in cargo acceptance, vessel endorsements, documentation accuracy and coordination with port personnel and shipping partners.
• Track vessel schedules, departure cut‑offs and arrival status to guarantee smooth inter‑island transfers.
• Manage air transfer operations from Manila airports, coordinating with airline partners on flight schedules, cargo acceptance and recovery plans.
• Create, implement and continuously improve SOPs, escalation processes, monitoring tools and operational controls.
• Analyze operational data, generate performance reports and develop dashboards for visibility on dispatch performance, lead‑time compliance and shipment aging.
• Conduct root‑cause analysis of losses, damages and delays, and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure all transfer documents, manifests and acknowledgments are accurate and audit‑ready.
• Monitor and escalate operational risks such as port congestion, weather disruptions, vessel delays and capacity limitations.
• Lead regular operational reviews with Port Coordinators and transport control teams.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing inter‑island and air cargo operations.
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to generate operational insights and dashboards.
• Experience in process creation, improvement and KPI monitoring.
• Ability to lead cross‑functional teams, including Port Coordinators and transport control units.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills for root‑cause analysis and incident mitigation.
