Airfreight Specialist – Import Operations

About the role

The Airfreight Specialist (Import) joins the country‑level operations team to manage the transactional and administrative execution of import shipments. Working under the guidance of the AIR product organisation, the role ensures that shipment data is accurately entered, enriched, and communicated to internal and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Enter and enrich shipment data in core operating systems and coordinate distribution of shipment information, status updates, and required documents.
• Manage freight bookings, optimise bookings according to internal guidelines, and arrange customer collection, pickup, final‑mile delivery and onward forwarding.
• Review import documents (pre‑alert, e‑manifest, draft invoice) for compliance with customs regulations and internal procedures.
• Maintain liaison with accredited brokers and government agencies to meet specialised customs clearance requirements.
• Monitor key performance indicators, ensure adherence to customer SOPs, and act as the primary contact for customer service teams.
• File and safeguard shipment records for future reference and ensure timely document completion.

• Proactive communication skills to keep customers informed about shipment status, delays, and availability.
