Accounts Receivable Specialist for Commercial Real Estate

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage AR operations for a large commercial real‑estate property. The role includes tenant billing, cash application, collections, reconciliations and other accounting activities.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day AR tasks such as tenant billing, cash application, credits, adjustments and account maintenance.
• Monitor tenant balances, conduct collection activities and follow up on overdue amounts.
• Reconcile tenant accounts, investigate discrepancies and process true‑up adjustments.
• Process recurring and ad‑hoc tenant charges, including utilities, parking, security and construction‑related chargebacks.
• Support utility billing reconciliations and ensure billings align with lease terms.
• Respond to tenant inquiries regarding invoices, payments and account balances.
• Maintain accurate AR records and support month‑end and year‑end closing activities.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Leasing, Property Management and Operations teams to resolve billing issues.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Previous experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar accounting role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR processes.
• Experience in commercial real‑estate or property‑management environments is preferred.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational and analytical abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• Familiarity with MRI or other property‑management accounting software.
