Accounting Manager – Financial Closing & Tax

About the role

The Accounting Manager will lead the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial closing, tax compliance, and internal control processes. This senior position partners with business units to provide strategic financial insight while driving automation and digital transformation initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing, ensuring complete and accurate financial statements and management reports.
• Review journal entries, account reconciliations and financial analyses for compliance with PFRS, company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee all tax filings (VAT, withholding, DST, income tax), monitor regulatory changes and coordinate BIR audits and external tax advisors.
• Maintain a robust internal control environment, identify control deficiencies and implement process improvements.
• Supervise and develop Accounting Supervisors, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Provide accounting, tax and financial advice to support commercial decisions and cross‑functional projects.
• Assist the AVP‑Controller with finance transformation, automation and AI‑enabled tools.
• Lead accounting and tax workstreams for investments, acquisitions, joint ventures and restructuring, including due diligence and post‑acquisition integration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in financial reporting, tax compliance and internal controls, preferably in a multinational environment.
• Proven leadership experience managing accounting teams and driving process improvements.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
