Accountant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join Surbana Jurong’s finance team in Mandaluyong City. The role involves managing transaction validation, performing complex reconciliations, and supporting the monthly close while ensuring compliance with accounting principles and internal controls.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate transactions entered in Sage, E4SE, and eBO for accuracy and compliance.
• Investigate and resolve transactional issues in coordination with supervisors and colleagues.
• Prepare journal entries for adjustments or corrections.
• Escalate issues to senior staff for timely resolution.
• Prepare and analyse complex bank and balance‑sheet reconciliations and advise line managers of any issues.
• Review basic reconciliations performed by associate accountants or finance assistants.
• Prepare complex and recurring financial reports.
• Review payroll reports and monitor tax payments.
• Create and amend vendor accounts.
• Assist with audits by providing supporting records and documentation.
• Support the monthly close process to meet deadlines.
• Evaluate current accounting processes and propose efficiency improvements.
• Contribute to process‑improvement initiatives across the office.
• Perform ad‑hoc duties as assigned.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accountancy, Management Accounting or Banking.
• 5–6 years of experience in project, general, cost, payroll accounting, auditing or accounts payable.
• CPA license is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Experience in a shared‑services or BPO environment is a plus.
• Proficiency with ERP or financial reporting software; SAP experience is required.
• Strong command of MS Excel and overall MS Office suite.
• Ability to work with precision under competing deadlines and heavy workloads.
• Professionalism under pressure and excellent interpersonal skills in a multicultural environment.
