Accountant – Cebu City

About the role

The Accountant will join Helpware’s Manila and Cebu team, handling accurate financial records, payables, and supporting month‑end closings and audits in a fast‑paced BPO environment.

Key responsibilities

• Complete month‑end closing and financial reporting processes.
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations.
• Establish controls and update accounting records and files.
• Serve as the accounts payable point of contact, handling bill entry and payments.
• Reconcile company credit‑card expenses and monitor compliance with expense policy.
• Conduct monthly trend analysis on balance‑sheet and profit‑and‑loss statements.
• Provide information for financial statements preparation and annual audits.
• Implement process improvements and ensure compliance with internal controls.
• Perform ad‑hoc accounting research and applications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required).
• CPA qualification or actively pursuing it.
• 0–2 years experience in a public accounting firm or equivalent; internships acceptable.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (functions, pivot tables).
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft CRM (plus).
