About the role
We are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to lead cost estimation and control for infrastructure and energy projects. The role involves preparing cost plans, bills of quantities, and supporting contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare preliminary cost estimates, feasibility studies and cost plans for infrastructure and energy designs.
- Develop Bills of Quantities (BOQ), technical specifications and cost breakdowns using standard measurement methods.
- Perform quantity take‑offs from drawings, specifications, CAD or BIM models, both manually and with software.
- Conduct value engineering, price forecasting, inflation adjustments and update estimates as designs evolve.
- Verify arithmetic accuracy, compliance and reasonableness of quantities and rates.
- Ensure compliance with contract conditions (FIDIC, DPWH, NEC) and relevant regulations.
- Provide cost risk advice and support commercial strategy development.
- Prepare detailed unit price analyses and life‑cycle costing for roads, bridges, ports and utilities.
- Assist in O&M cost estimation and government procurement reporting.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure or building projects as a Quantity Surveyor.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials and cost estimating for civil, structural, architectural and MEP works.
- Familiarity with standard forms of construction contracts and variation/claims management.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical reports accurately.
- Professional license or certification (e.g., Registered Engineer) is an advantage.
Required skills
- CostX or similar quantity surveying software.
- Planswift or equivalent estimating tools.
- Microsoft Excel for cost analysis and reporting.
- AutoCAD for reading and measuring civil engineering drawings.
- Experience with BIM or CAD models for quantity take‑offs.
- Knowledge of MS Project or Primavera for construction planning.
