Quality Engineer II

About the role

Microchip Technology is seeking a Quality Engineer II to ensure manufacturing processes are executed correctly using the right tools, materials, and procedures. You will implement quality management systems, resolve non‑conforming product issues, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to meet defined quality goals.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and maintain Quality Management Systems (QMS).
• Manage timely resolution of customer feedback and internal quality issues.
• Coordinate with operations to address RMAs and material non‑conformities.
• Oversee incoming wafer and raw‑material quality, providing improvement plans.
• Quarantine and disposition non‑conforming materials and products accurately.
• Review supplier SCAR reports and monitor effectiveness.
• Maintain quality documentation, procedures, and work instructions.
• Analyze quality data and produce regular quality reports.
• Conduct failure analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Support internal and customer manufacturing audits.
• Lead quality and process improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience as a Quality Assurance Engineer in the semiconductor or related industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Knowledge of ESD control, 5S, 8D problem‑solving, FMEA, Control Plans, the 7 QC tools, and MSA.
• Familiarity with ISO‑9001 and IATF‑16949 quality management standards.
