Ocean Allocation Strategy Specialist

About the role

The Ocean Allocation Strategy Specialist will oversee the end‑to‑end ocean shipment process for Nestlé, ensuring that volume allocations align with market forecasts and contractual commitments. This role works closely with markets, ocean carriers, and the Global Logistics Procurement team to maintain smooth and reliable ocean deliveries.

Key responsibilities

• Manage volume submissions, monitor allocation variations, and adjust based on market forecasts (IMS and R&P).
• Guide the use of Shipments Management Systems to improve visibility and collaboration with customers and suppliers.
• Consolidate annual tender volumes, perform health checks, and communicate specifications to markets.
• Coordinate with markets and carriers on revised volumes, tender timelines, and contract allocations.
• Notify markets of allocated volumes and carriers, share transit times, and ensure carriers are aware of contract terms.
• Identify additional volume needs outside regular contracts and raise requests accordingly.
• Track carrier lane availability, allocate volumes weekly/monthly/quarterly, and share shipment schedules with nominated carriers.
• Participate in operational reviews, continuous improvement projects, and other logistics initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding, shipping lines, or import/export operations.
• Strong background in physical logistics and supply‑chain project management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
