Works Manager

About the role

Sulzer is seeking a Works Manager to lead the tendering and execution phases of engineering projects in the Philippines. You will act as the primary technical liaison with clients, define project methodologies, allocate resources, and ensure that scope, quality, schedule, and cost targets are achieved.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate technical details during the tendering process, identify required tools, equipment and manpower, and serve as the point of contact for clients.
• Create comprehensive project schedules from mobilization through commissioning and client acceptance.
• Manage project scope, quality, time and cost during execution, including sourcing local skilled resources and supervising subcontractors on site.
• Lead client meetings, respond to inquiries, and coordinate with internal Sulzer divisions.
• Support the development of the Sulzer Philippines Service Center, including design review, construction supervision and equipment testing.
• Assess demand for facility expansion, participate in hiring, training and supervision of technical staff, and establish quality‑control documentation.
• Maintain strong client relationships to provide timely solutions and support business growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• More than 5 years of managerial experience in repairing rotating equipment.
• Hands‑on knowledge of maintenance and overhaul of turbines, compressors and generators.
• Proven track record as a Project Manager or Technical Coordinator on repair, maintenance or commissioning projects.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) and willingness to travel to project sites.

• Proficiency with project planning and scheduling tools.
• Root cause analysis and troubleshooting techniques.
• Ability to source and manage local manpower, tools and equipment.
• Technical expertise in rotating equipment maintenance (turbine, compressor, generator).
