US Payroll Tax Filing Specialist (Remote)

About the role

We are looking for a detail‑oriented US Payroll Tax Filing Specialist to join our remote tax operations team. You will support US payroll tax filing activities for a mid‑market HR technology company, ensuring accuracy and compliance for thousands of US‑based employers.

Key responsibilities

• Execute day‑to‑day US payroll tax filing tasks, including agency bulk payment balancing and case updates.
• Prepare filing packages, track confirmations, and support periodic and quarter‑end filing cycles.
• Identify, flag, and escalate filing rejections, missing TPA/POA items, and other discrepancies.
• Research and resolve tax notices, documenting root causes and follow‑up actions.
• Maintain organized records to support audit trails and internal reviews.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in US payroll tax filing, compliance, or tax production.
• Strong understanding of US payroll tax regulations and filing processes.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines independently with high attention to detail.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with agency bulk payment balancing or filing package preparation.
• Familiarity with TPA (Third Party Administrator) or POA (Power of Attorney) documentation in a payroll context.
• Exposure to payroll or tax systems used in US‑based operations.
