Tax Senior Accountant – Public Accounting

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Senior Accountant to join our Tax Services department in a public accounting firm. You will work directly with a diverse client base, handling a variety of tax and accounting engagements while mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare Federal, State, and City tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and exempt organizations.
• Conduct tax research and respond to client inquiries.
• Consult with clients on tax compliance matters.
• Prepare financial statements and perform compilations and reviews.
• Train and mentor Tax Services staff.
• Participate in quality control review programs.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Contribute to firm initiatives and special projects.
• Perform additional accounting, tax, and consulting duties as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of public accounting tax experience.
• Experience preparing individual, S‑Corp, C‑Corp, and partnership returns.
• CPA eligibility (CPA designation is a plus).
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Team‑oriented mindset with a customer‑service focus.
