Structural Engineering Consultant – Beam Monolith Retrofit

About the role

Habitat for Humanity International seeks a qualified structural engineering consultant to transform the Beam Monolith foundation retrofit pilot into a scalable, market‑ready solution for high‑risk households in the Philippines.

Key responsibilities

• Produce complete working drawings, structural calculations and technical specifications for five Beam Monolith variants.
• Develop adaptive designs that accommodate alternative wall materials such as fiber‑cement boards and plywood.
• Create a design guide for houses with rectangular footprints up to 8 m × 8 m, defining allowable spans and loads.
• Ensure all designs comply with Philippine building codes and disaster‑resilience standards.
• Design a “Training of Trainers” (ToT) program and certification framework for local government staff and barangay‑level workers.

Required profile

• Licensed structural engineer or engineering firm with experience in foundation retrofitting and disaster‑resilient construction.
• Familiarity with Philippine building regulations and local construction practices.
• Proven ability to produce detailed design documentation and conduct technical training.
