Senior Drainage Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Drainage Engineer to lead the design and implementation of drainage, stormwater and flood control solutions. You will work on complex projects, ensuring compliance with local and international standards while delivering innovative, sustainable outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and design drainage systems, stormwater networks, flood control structures, and erosion/sedimentation control measures.
• Perform advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, StormCAD, Civil 3D, SWMM, or equivalent tools.
• Prepare engineering plans, profiles, cross‑sections, detail sheets and technical specifications.
• Conduct site assessments, field inspections and data collection to support design development.
• Prepare hydrology/hydraulics reports, drainage impact studies, technical memos and design documentation for permitting and approvals.
• Assist in responding to regulatory agencies, clients and internal reviewers.
• Maintain organized project records and ensure all outputs meet applicable standards and regulations.
• Review and validate calculations, drawings and reports prepared by junior engineers and CAD technicians.
• Identify design risks and propose mitigation strategies or alternative solutions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in drainage, stormwater or flood control engineering.
• Ability to lead design reviews and mentor junior staff.
• Strong knowledge of local, national and international engineering standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
