Restaurant Accountant with QuickBooks Online Expertise

About the role

Howard Financial is seeking a detail‑oriented accountant to support restaurant clients. You will work remotely with a collaborative team, handling daily financial records, reconciliations, and reporting for hospitality businesses.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain and categorize all financial transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) on a daily basis.
• Reconcile daily POS sales reports with cash deposits, credit‑card payouts, and delivery‑app payouts.
• Process vendor invoices, track food & beverage and labor costs, and ensure timely payments.
• Monitor key restaurant metrics such as COGS and labor percentages.
• Perform monthly bank and credit‑card statement reconciliations and generate basic P&L reports for owners/managers.

Required profile

• 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience in the restaurant/hospitality sector.
• Strong, practical experience using QuickBooks Online.
• Familiarity with connecting QBO to restaurant POS systems (e.g., Toast, Clover, Square) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
• Availability 9 AM–5 PM EST, Monday to Friday.
