Junior Preconstruction / Bid Coordinator

About the role

We are looking for a motivated and organized Junior Preconstruction / Bid Coordinator to support multiple ground‑up development projects, including multifamily and mixed‑use projects in Yonkers and Orange. This entry‑level position offers hands‑on experience in the bidding and subcontractor coordination process, with direct guidance from ownership and development management.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in assembling and organizing project budgets.
• Send out Requests for Proposal (RFPs) to subcontractors and vendors.
• Coordinate bidding efforts across 40+ construction trades and track bid submissions.
• Follow up with subcontractors to ensure timely receipt of bids.
• Manage bidder questions and communicate with architects, engineers, interior designers, and consultants.
• Organize and track Requests for Information (RFIs) and maintain bid logs, proposal tracking, and procurement spreadsheets.
• Create Excel‑based bid leveling sheets to compare subcontractor proposals.
• Identify scope differences, exclusions, and pricing gaps between bids.
• Maintain organized project documents, plans, and subcontractor correspondence.

Required profile

• Basic understanding of construction drawings and plans.
• Strong communication and follow‑up abilities.
• Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Self‑motivated with a willingness to learn and grow in construction and real‑estate development.
• Exposure to construction, estimating, architecture, engineering, or real‑estate is a plus but not required.
