ETO Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking an experienced ETO Design Engineer to develop and deliver customer‑centric engineered‑to‑order solutions for NEC markets. You will translate specific customer requirements into detailed mechanical and electrical designs, ensuring feasibility, cost‑effectiveness, and timely delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Design customized ETO products based on technical specifications and customer needs.
• Lead end‑to‑end design activities, making high‑level engineering decisions.
• Create and maintain project development plans to ensure on‑time execution.
• Provide manufacturing support, confirming design feasibility and production readiness.
• Prepare and manage technical documentation, including assembly drawings, schematics, and bills of materials.
• Analyze specifications to develop optimized solutions using existing or modified components.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (Customer Service, Operations, Sourcing, Sales, vendors) to meet cost, timeline, and technical targets.
• Maintain engineering data within CAD and SAP systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in ETO design or order execution within a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects with fast turnaround times.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 2D CAD and 3D modeling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Experience with PLM systems (Enovia, SAP‑PLM/Cideon) and SAP ERP.
• Knowledge of UL, NEMA, and NEC standards (e.g., UL 50/50E, 508/508A, 1203, 67).
• Familiarity with third‑party certification requirements (UL, CSA, ATEX).
• Design of electrical enclosures and industrial control systems.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes: sand casting, die casting, metal stamping, sheet‑metal fabrication, machining.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
