Elevator Inspector / Consultant

About the role

GUNN Consultants is seeking a solutions‑driven Elevator Inspector/Consultant to join its Inspections and Special Projects Team. You will act as the primary client contact, overseeing field inspections, code compliance checks, and providing expert recommendations for elevator and escalator equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct on‑site inspections of elevators and escalators, reviewing maintenance, reliability, and life‑cycle concerns.
• Verify code compliance of equipment and maintenance practices.
• Develop clear remediation recommendations and prepare material and labour estimates.
• Produce reports, specifications, letters, and other project documentation.
• Review bids, contracts, and negotiate terms as needed.
• Determine and maintain project schedules, coordinating activities and resolving issues.
• Support business development and other related duties.
• Travel to project locations as required.

Required skills

• Elevator Maintenance Contractor Certificate.
• Knowledge of electronics and mechanical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of elevator and escalator installation, maintenance, and upgrade.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Project management experience (preferred).

What we offer

• Competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
• Full‑time schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am–5 pm.
