Project Management Officer / Senior Project Engineer

About the role

The Project Management Officer / Senior Project Engineer will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of construction projects, ensuring they meet quality standards, budgets, and regulatory requirements. This position works closely with headquarters in Malaysia and local teams to translate design concepts into successful on‑site outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with HQ Malaysia architects and engineers to define project specifications.
• Provide layout and design recommendations suitable for local settings.
• Prepare pre‑bid documents, project plans, and conduct construction monitoring and punch listings.
• Plan, organize, and manage project budgets, ensuring expenses stay within allocated limits.
• Obtain quotations and negotiate contracts with external vendors and suppliers.
• Plan construction operations and schedule phases to meet project deadlines.
• Monitor project progress, prepare detailed reports, and address construction‑related concerns.
• Obtain permits and licenses from appropriate authorities and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety standards, reporting issues and implementing corrective actions.
• Coordinate with design, asset maintenance, and other departments to ensure project success.
• Perform other project‑related tasks as assigned by senior management.

Required profile

• Licensed Civil, Electrical, Sanitary, or Mechanical Engineer.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction project management, fit‑out, or site development.
• Preferably experienced in retail construction or commercial fit‑out projects.
• Willingness to conduct fieldwork and report to the head office as needed.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Familiarity with project management tools.
