Power and Thirdrail Technician

About the role

The Power and Thirdrail Technician will carry out routine visual inspections and preventive maintenance on high‑voltage and traction power equipment for the MRT7 project. The role ensures system integrity, supports train service continuity, and complies with strict safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Execute a systematic maintenance schedule for high‑voltage and traction power equipment.
• Perform visual inspections of transformers, monitoring thermal and operational status.
• Inspect switchgear and third‑rail infrastructure, including detailed cleaning.
• Conduct deep‑dive inspections of rectifiers, high‑speed circuit breakers (HSCBs) and expansion joints.
• Manage specialized maintenance for earthing devices, expansion joints and insulators on 3‑year and 5‑year cycles.
• Provide reactive maintenance and act as first technical responder to power system failures.
• Apply Lock‑Out, Tag‑Out (LOTO) procedures and other electrical safety protocols.
• Update the Maintenance Management System (MMS) with real‑time status reports.

• Ability to conduct routine visual inspections and preventive checks on power and third‑rail equipment.
• Commitment to follow strict electrical safety and LOTO procedures.
• Capability to record and update maintenance data in the MMS accurately.
