Legal Officer

About the role

PayMongo is building the financial operating system for businesses in the Philippines and needs a Legal Officer to keep its legal processes smooth and reliable. You will work closely with the Legal team and other internal functions to ensure contracts and documentation are accurate, organized, and delivered on time.

Key responsibilities

• Support day‑to‑day execution of the legal function, maintaining accurate and timely contracts and legal documents.
• Draft, review, and revise contracts and legal documents using templates and guidance.
• Maintain contract trackers and ensure proper filing and organization of legal records.
• Conduct legal research and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
• Assist with regulatory and compliance documentation requirements.
• Coordinate with internal teams (Sales, Product, Finance, Risk) to provide legal inputs and updates.
• Work with external counsel when needed.
• Support data privacy and governance documentation, including data‑sharing agreements.
• Ensure all legal records are structured, accessible, and audit‑ready.

Required profile

• 2‑3 years of experience in legal drafting, contract management, or legal operations.
• Detail‑oriented, structured, and dependable with a pride in getting things right.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple documents and deadlines.
• Comfortable collaborating across teams and following through on requests.
• Clear communicator who can simplify legal concepts when needed.
• Familiarity with Philippine laws and regulations; fintech or payments exposure is a plus.
