Java Spring Boot Engineer – Digital Banking

About the role

Join the engineering team that powers Macquarie’s award‑winning digital bank. You will develop and maintain the core APIs behind our online and mobile banking platforms, working in a DevOps environment with end‑to‑end ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain high‑quality Java APIs for digital banking services.
• Apply DevOps practices to automate testing, CI/CD pipelines and delivery.
• Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Provide occasional production support and incident resolution.

Required profile

• Strong hands‑on experience with Java 11 or higher, including streams and lambda expressions.
• Proficiency with Spring Boot and RESTful API development.
• Experience in automated unit and integration testing.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and JPA.
• Ability to break down complex problems and solve them systematically.
• Optional but advantageous: experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP), basic scripting (Python or Unix/Shell), and prompt engineering with AI tools.
