Health Promotion and Policy Coordination Officer

About the role

The Health Promotion and Policy Coordination Officer will support the WHO Western Pacific Region in advancing population health through integrated health‑promotion, disease‑prevention and policy initiatives. Working within the Health Promotion and Policy Unit, the officer will help shape health‑enabling environments across the region.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate activities across priority areas such as tobacco control, alcohol control, physical activity and injury prevention.
• Support NCD surveillance coordination, including consolidation of country inputs, data monitoring and reporting.
• Develop technical documents, policy briefs and advocacy materials.
• Assist in organizing meetings, workshops and webinars, preparing materials and documenting outcomes.
• Compile and synthesize country experiences, good practices and evidence for cross‑country learning.
• Maintain activity trackers, consolidate programme inputs and support progress reporting.
• Collaborate with DPC units and partners to promote coherent, integrated and equity‑driven health promotion efforts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Global Health Policy, Health Social Sciences or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience in public health, health promotion, NCD prevention and control, or policy coordination.
• Fluent English (required).
