Design Engineer II

About the role

The Design Engineer II will create component layouts, perform stack‑up calculations, and develop cost studies to support manufacturing operations. The role ensures designs meet budget, reliability, and manufacturability targets while collaborating across functions.

Key responsibilities

• Produce detailed component layouts and calculate stack‑up of parts.
• Prepare major cost studies, new detail drawings, and supporting documentation.
• Conduct design analysis to verify cost efficiency, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Resolve moderate‑scope design problems to keep projects on schedule.
• Adapt designs or implement changes due to tolerance issues, manufacturing challenges, or customer requirements.
• Work with Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain to address line issues and product obsolescence.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 4 years of mechanical design experience, preferably 1‑3 years in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong teamwork ability and capacity to work with minimal supervision.
• Highly analytical with keen attention to detail.
• Excellent computer and communication skills.
• Familiarity with Design Change Management processes.
