Business Risk and Compliance Officer

About the role

The Business Risk and Compliance Officer is responsible for independently validating and testing trust accounts managed by Portfolio Managers. This role ensures that all trust documentation complies with regulatory requirements set by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and other authorities, and prepares reports for senior committees and the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and update trust documentary requirements for managed accounts.
• Stay current with BSP policies, especially anti‑money laundering and terrorist financing regulations, and ensure strict implementation.
• Validate and test‑check accounts, schedule and prioritize annual reviews, and track completion status.
• Report review status (due, completed, compliant, deficient) to the Business Risk and Compliance Head.
• Conduct portfolio performance reviews to verify alignment with Investment Policy Statements and client risk profiles.
• Ensure trust documents are reviewed, authenticated, and approved by authorized units.
• Perform periodic compliance checks to confirm document validity, completeness, and accuracy.
• Update Client Suitability Assessment Forms at least every three years or as needed.
• Identify and remediate administrative/documentary deficiencies, maintaining tracking records.
• Coordinate with IT teams for system updates to meet regulatory changes.
• Prepare policies and guidelines to achieve satisfactory audit ratings.

Required profile

• Strong knowledge of BSP regulations, anti‑money laundering, and trust account management.
• Experience in risk assessment, compliance monitoring, and portfolio performance analysis.
• Ability to prepare detailed reports for senior management and audit committees.
• Excellent attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
