Accounting Manager

About the role

Stagwell is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day‑to‑day general ledger operations and support the broader finance function. The role involves close collaboration with AR, Billing, AP and Finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Manage daily operations for general ledger accounting, including prepaid, fixed assets, accruals, and other month‑end entries.
• Oversee accounting staff to meet timely close and reporting deadlines.
• Review balance‑sheet reconciliations and perform detailed GL account analyses.
• Prepare and review audit schedules, assist with year‑end tax schedules, and support audit inquiries.
• Lead intercompany reconciliation processes and support month‑end ancillary packages and Hyperion trial balance uploads.
• Provide backup for various Shared Services areas and handle ad‑hoc finance requests.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA or equivalent preferred.
• 2+ years of experience managing an accounting team and 5‑7 years of overall accounting experience.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge of GAAP, FASB, and SEC reporting requirements.
• Experience with consolidations and intercompany eliminations.
• Highly organized self‑starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Large ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Maconomy, INTACCT).
• Advanced Excel (VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, pivot tables).
• Hyperion reporting tools.
• GAAP, FASB, SEC accounting standards.
