Accountant

About the role

The Accountant will prepare journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and support the company’s SOX control framework. This role involves month‑end, quarter‑end, and regulatory reporting, as well as ad‑hoc accounting analysis.

Key responsibilities

• Post journal entries and reconcile GL accounts, clearing reconciling items.
• Prepare month‑end schedules, quarter‑end SEC schedules, and Call Report schedules.
• Review GL accounts and work breakdown structures for reasonableness.
• Assist with ad‑hoc reporting, analysis, and correction of loan activity postings.
• Validate transaction entries through daily, monthly, and quarterly reconciliations.
• Process employee travel and expense disbursements.
• Support budgeting, cost management, reporting, and forecasting initiatives.
• Manage month‑end accounting for fixed assets, prepaid expenses, accruals, payroll, cost allocations, and account reconciliations.
• Maintain financial records in accordance with GAAP and company standards.
• Create and update procedures for journal entries.

Required profile

• Experience with general ledger maintenance and month‑end close processes.
• Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control design.
• Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements (SEC, Call Report).
• Ability to perform detailed reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Strong analytical skills for ad‑hoc accounting and problem resolution.
